The Art Market Team
The Art Market Team currently is:
- Brendan Hesmondhalgh - Figurative Sculptor
- Emily Stubbs - Ceramicist
- Victoria Robinson - Lighting & Homeware's Designer/Maker
The Art Market Team - originally Brendan, Deb & Victoria, came together in 2008 to organise a one off art market as part of The Holmfirth Arts Festival - it was such a huge success that we decided to do it regularly. Since then the work load has increased dramatically and now we work part-time throughout the year on The Art Market.
Deb Price has been instrumental in making The Art Market what it is today, as a founder member of The Art Market, she is now taking time away to develop her own work.
Since our beginnings, we've had loads of help from many people including; Doug & Helen @ Sputnik Web Design who sort out our website, John Coombes and Michael Oakes have both taken wonderful photographs for us, Fiona Pattison at Happy4PR does all our PR and Marketing and we get lots of help from family and friends to keep it all going (thank you!)
The Art Market Team work really hard to create a unique and welcoming event. We try to create the kind of event we would like to be part of, and we try to exhibit at every market so that we know how it's worked from both sides.
We select original work of a high standard, work we think the public will like, from good quality artists & designers/makers.
We really want each art market to be different - so we don't choose the same artists or designer/makers each time - to keep it from stagnating... although we do like to have good artists again.
Just like a gallery, we want you to come along to The Art Market, and see something you've never seen before.
If you wonder why we don't have much of a particular type of work - it's normally because they haven't applied!
